R.I.P. - Nibbles

We've all known the sting of losing a pet in our childhood, and this morning both the boys experienced it. Nibbles, the beloved hamster died and has been buried in our garden.

Aidan has sobbed over the loss of her and Luke, well, he just believes that Nibbles will be alive tomorrow, or in 3 days. (I guess the Resurrection of Christ has made an impression on him!)

After burying Nibbles, Aidan placed a rock over her grave and wrote her name on it. Then, going back a second time and wrote the number "1" at the end of her name and said, that the next Nibbles will be Nibbles "number 2!"

She was a great hamster, but something tells me that riding down slides, in toy cars, flying rocket ships, skidding across the hardwood floors and flying through the air on the trampoline just wasn't her cup of tea. Rest In Peace, Nibbles, you deserve it. Thanks for bringing joy to our boys, you will be missed dearly.

Ironically, this picture was taken yesterday morning of her.

Aidan's final farewell.
