Kiss Me Dirty

Yeah, I'm a dirty girl! A group of us entered into a 5K obstacle course for gynecological research. SUPER FUN TIME! I even had a fan club!

Bucket List #219 - Play in mud

Host a Road Trip Sleepover

Many friends come and go in our lives. Very few stay on for the long haul. Josh, Sheena and Hayden are those kind of friends. At the end of their 2 week road trip over 5 states, they stopped by the house for a sleepover.

Bucket List #563 - HOST a Road Trip Sleepover

Yes...he got praises and lectures for that flip

Brothers of the Sun Tour (Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw)

After CFD and ZBB, we headed back to Denver for the concert of the summer! Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw! Such a fantastic concert!

And of course, we felt like Rockstars!

IT WAS SO LOUD! SO GOOD! IT ROCKED! PLUS! WE GOT TO SEE PEYTON MANNING IN THE HOUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME! (I secretly wish Tebow was still here though...)

Zac Brown Band at Cheyenne Frontier Days

This past weekend, the hubby and I got to experience a CONCERT WEEKEND! First up, Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Zac Brown Band. Not only was it a great concert, but we sat, ehem, STOOD in the Party Zone for many, many, many hours (like 7!) Total rush. And yes, we will do it again.

Skip the Bed Time

Our boys adore sunrise. Apparently, they believe that getting up with the sun or before it is the thing to do. The only logical thing would be to put them to bed later, RIGHT? WRONG!?! They went to bed 2 hours later and STILL GOT UP AT 5:30!!

At least we had a great Wednesday evening playing the pool!

7-11-12

It's National 7-11 DAY! To celebrate we got our free Slurpee's from 7-Eleven!

It's called being thrifty

Its been H.O.T. here. My water bill is sky high. One morning after we were done with our walk, we headed over to the park behind our house. It was 9 am. It was already 95 degrees. The city thought it would be a good idea to water the grass. I took advantage of it and decided to let my kids run through the sprinklers - with their clothes on.

HEY! I pay for the water in some way or another!

Lazy Fourth of July

Usually, I am gung-ho about holidays. But this year, the Bucket List called for, LAZY. And that is exactly what we did. We hung out at the lake ALL DAY LONG. Then came home and ate some smoked ribs, grilled corn on the cob and all the food fare of the Fourth. Followed by a festive flag cake. What a fantastic lazy fourth!

Mud Pies # 198

One afternoon I asked the boys to water the flowers. After about 10 minutes, I realized that the water had been running FAR to long for a simple watering. Yep. I was right. They were up to no good. They created a mud pit in the backyard. Awesome.

Become a Fashionista

I tell ya, where would I be without in-house consulting from the new up and coming fashionista?

Hold a Frog

Our first trip to the berry patch this season was an eventful one. Especially when we had to rescue frogs from going in the deep dark pits. Both boys held the frog, unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough for me to get a picture of Aidan holding one. Sadness.

And he definitely wasn't going to do it twice!!

#1 on the Bucket List! POTTY TRAIN

Luke isn't fully potty trained, but he is well on his way!!!

Steppin' out in the river

Bucket List # 135

Cool our toes in the cold river

Invite Optimus Prime over for a bit

We've had a new visitor here at the homestead. Optimus Prime has been making his appearances daily. Sure glad he is into being helpful rather than saving the world one Decepticon at a time.

Lazy Days in the Hammock

Hammock + Summer + Soul Mate = BEST TIME EVER

Buy a Smoker

Ever since we visited Ted's family over the mountain, and they smoked us some yummy food, Ted has been bound and determined to get one. I got one for him for Father's Day. Unfortunately for me it came 2 weeks early and it was too dang heavy for me to lift off the front porch to hide it until the big day. So he came home and found it, unwrapped and 2 weeks early. Fortunately for him, he didn't mind one bit.

Bucket List # 4

Toby Keith Concert

There is just something about going to a concert in the middle of the summer.

Go to the Toby Keith Concert at Fiddler's Green (or whatever they call it now) with friends. Drink Beer. Bucket List # 87

POOL

We live in a place where having a pool is not a year round thing. It's more like a 3 month thing. Even then, you have to fish out the nasty bugs that declare your pool to be their watering hole. At any rate, we've bought a couple of blow up pools for the family to enjoy and cool off in the evenings. I say a few because there has been a mishap with the first, but we won't go there.

Bucket List # 122: GET A POOL (in ground or above ground. specifics matter not)

Hiking

We haven't done a lot of hiking since both the boys have been born. Mainly, cause I'm a sissy when it comes to taking kids (my kids) on the mountain when they have a death wish..signed and sealed. As Aidan has grown up, he is getting better and better about fear and lack thereof. Luke is more of the timid type and will work hard, but rarely leave my side...white knuckled is how he hikes. This summer is definitely more of a hiking summer than any other.

Bucket List # 154 checked off: HIKING

Law Breaker

I have yet to have a "complete" run-in with the law. Take that statement HOWEVER you'd like, just sayin'.

About a week ago, we went golfing with some friends. Let me rephrase that. We went out into 107 degree heat to drive golf carts, chase after balls, losing balls, driving through sprinklers...and learning the difference between a wedge and an iron.

Ted was able to score free tee times at a local golf course. We invited some friends. It was hot. We broke the law. The law didn't win. BAM!

Watermelon, umbrellas, and pools

Seriously, what else screams summer?

Rock Skipping

I'm pretty sure that there is a point in every child's life where the time comes for them to learn: ROCK SKIPPING.

Growing up we would go camping a lot and my dad would take us down to the river or the lake and teach us the in's and out's of rock skipping. I got pretty good there for awhile. 6 skips was my top number. I'm sure my brother's was more in the range of...1!! HA! (I bet he doesn't read this post! ;-) )

Anyways, we did a family bike ride one evening after dinner to the river nearby. We dumped the bikes and headed towards the banks in search of the best skipping stone.

Bucket List #219 checked off: Rock Skipping.

Photo Contest

My sister-in-law is encouraging me to enter into a photo contest with a few of my photographs that I have taken. I sorted through a few and some were even suggested for me to enter.

I submitted this photograph of my two boys taken in the Spring of 2010, right before I left to go witness my brother marry his Bride in the Czech Republic. I carried this photo with me to help me keep from becoming homesick! I even turned it into a canvas print and it is one of those photos that will probably NEVER leave my wall. *Sigh* They were so sweet and innocent then...

I also entered this photo into the Best Family Photo category. I took this family's photo last fall when the leaves were changing at their peak. They wore the perfect colors to really bring out the gold in the aspens!

Grilled Hawaiian Pizza

Summer time is for grilling. Why not grill a pizza with fresh pineapple and scallions? Yummy, yummy, yummy!

Potty Training

Luke is our last one. This is our last bout with potty training. Monkey see monkey do. Unfortunately, our last monkey has YET to DO ANYTHING!!!

Mexico

The very essence of a Bucket List is to go places and do things that you dream about. I think it is only fitting that we start with Mexico. We celebrate our 15th Anniversary this August, and to remember it, we visited Cancun, Mexico. WE. WILL. BE. BACK!
